Apologies I have not posted for a while! I'm back! :-) unfortunately it's not the most positive of posts but I need to share it with you.
So just before Christmas I bought a cardigan from monsoon, £49.50 and I loved it. I came to wash it before my first wear and in looking at the care label I discovered it was made with Angora rabbit hair! I was horrified as PETA had only exposed the angora rabbit hair industry in December (google angora rabbit hair PETA) and you can read all about it. But in short- the rabbits are not kept in good conditions and are painfully plucked of their gorgeous hair for the fashion industry!!
So... I called monsoon to return the item and get a refund which they agreed to. Upon returning it to a store, I was told they were only able to return the amount of the item at the current sale price as it had gone into the January sales. Unfair as I hadn't even bought it in the sale! To make it even worse they gave it to me on a gift card rather than cash!
So I am less than pleased with the service and monsoon have reassured me they have withdrawn all of their angora products until they have researched into their suppliers more deeply- a move in the right direction!
So please everyone check the label to ensure you are not buying a cruel product! I was shocked that monsoon would even stock fur but they do!
